Share what you have
The free material on Worcester County MDGenWeb exists because researchers have taken the time to share records, transcriptions, photographs, family material, and local knowledge with others. If you have Worcester County material that can legally be shared, contributions are welcome.
Transcriptions
Cemetery readings, church records, Bible records, deeds, wills, tax lists, court records, directories, newspaper notices, and other carefully transcribed material can be especially useful.
Images and documents
Historic photographs, postcards, letters, diaries, family documents, maps, and other Worcester-related items may be useful additions when you have permission to share them.
Corrections
If you find a broken link, typo, incorrect date, misidentified place, or other problem, please send the correction and, when possible, the source that supports it.
Local knowledge
Old place names, church histories, neighborhood names, family cemeteries, local pronunciations, and similar details are often exactly what another researcher needs.
Transcription format
For record transcriptions, plain text is preferred because it is easy to preserve, search, and convert for the web. Keep the wording and spelling of the original record as faithfully as possible and include enough source information for another researcher to locate the original.
Submitting material
Send Worcester County contributions to the county coordinator at worcester@mdgenweb.org. Please identify the source, the contributor, and any restrictions or credit wording that should accompany the item.
