The following is information prepared and typed by Cousin John Ed Morris, a descendent of William Pollitt Morris, and given to Levin Merrill Morris, his cousin. Levin Merrill Morris' daughter, Dorothy Catherine Morris, gave this information to L. Paul Morris, Jr. It is believed that the information was taken from the first James Morris Bible that in the possession of Mrs. Ruth Crew Morris Winterbottom Adshead of Cambridge, MD in 1980. Currently, it is in the possession of a descendent of James Morris and Sarah Disharoon. It is believed to have been passed down through James' son, Thomas Covington Morris, who was the executor of James' estate. From this point, it is believed that it was passed down to Thomas' son, Levin Merrill Morris. The Bible was subsequently lent to Mrs. Adshead's father, Upshur Williams Morris, who was a brother of Levin Merrill Morris. It is unknown when this Bible was published.

Samuel Pollitt, a son of Thomas Pollitt and the father of Polly Pollitt was born January 9, 1759 and was married to Betsey Heath February 16, 1786 and departed this life April 7, 1803, aged 44 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Mr. James Morris, of Nutters District, in this county died yesterday morning in the 95th year of his age. Mr. Morris was perhaps the oldest man in Wicomico Co. He has been a member of the Presbyterian Church for about 60 years and a Ruling Elder for over thirty years. He was a large slave holder before emancipation, and his humane treatment of his servants, so firmly attached them to him, that the wife of the Rev'd Frost Pollitt, refused to leave his service when her freedom was offered her.

Death of an Old Defender, Mr. John E. Pollitt, a defender of Baltimore 1812-1814, died at his late residence, Chatsworth Street yesterday at the 87th year of his age. His remains will be taken to Salisbury, Wicomico Co., this morning for interment. -Balt. Sun Mr. Pollitt's remains were buried at the Presbyterian Church in this place at 4 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. J. Smyth officiating clergyman. Mr. Pollitt was the last survivor of a circle of aged men who have lived in this section for nearly a century, several of whom have died within this last decade.
