The free records on this site exist because researchers have generously shared transcriptions, photographs, letters, family material, corrections, and local-history information with others.

What You Can Contribute

• Transcriptions of wills, deeds, Bible records, court records, church records, marriage records, and other historical documents.
• Historic letters, diaries, narratives, and written artifacts.
• Corrections or additions to existing Somerset pages.
• Local-history articles or researched notes about Somerset people, communities, churches, schools, businesses, and places.
• Cemetery transcriptions and cemetery photographs. For these, please use the Somerset Cemeteries Project contribution guide.

Preferred Format

Plain text is easiest to preserve and convert to clean HTML. If your material depends on columns or a table, a spreadsheet or word-processing file is also acceptable; please explain how the columns should be interpreted.

For transcriptions, please identify the source as completely as possible: record type, book or liber, page, date, repository, and any notes needed to understand your transcription.
