Back Creek · Revell’s Neck, near Princess Anne · Somerset County, Maryland · 1877 Atlas: Princess Anne District No. 1
Cemetery No. 911 T-33-Southeast
William Dix Cemetery in Revell’s Neck, photographed during the 2010 survey. Click to enlarge.
This cemetery is in the Revell’s Neck community, on the northeast side of Back Creek. The contributors describe its location as along a private dirt road off Millard Long Road, four-tenths of a mile south of the intersection of Millard Long and Revell’s Neck roads. The cemetery lies on a low hill near a small branch of water flowing into Back Creek.
Part of the burial ground is enclosed by a concrete-block wall. At the March 2010 survey, the site measured approximately 40 by 35 feet and was described as being in fair condition, with evidence of some care. The contributors named the cemetery for William Dix Sr., whom they believed to be the oldest person buried there. His stone is broken, and some of its lettering is illegible.
The contributors noted that the 1850 census listed William Dix, then approximately 65, farming in the Princess Anne District (household 1344) with his wife Sarah and sons Theodore, 25, and Josephus, 22. The 1877 atlas shows the residence of M. J. Beauchamp northwest of the cemetery.

Cemetery and Family Notes
The contributors recorded the following Somerset County marriage information: on 15 August 1906, Isaac H. Beauchamp, age 22, married Daisy Dora Bozman, age 20. Daisy died on 17 August 1911, about five years after their marriage. Their son Isaac H. died as an infant in 1910.
These genealogical details are drawn from the contributor’s updated PDF and have not been independently rechecked against the original marriage register. The donor packet also contains copies of 1900 and 1910 census pages, preserved below for further research.
An additional small stone photographed at the cemetery bears initials that appear to be “M. J. B.” It may be associated with Mary J. Beauchamp, but the photograph does not conclusively establish that identification, so it appears among the supporting photographs rather than as an additional burial.
Site Documentation
The contributor’s annotated aerial map identifies the cemetery off Millard Long Road in Revell’s Neck. Site photographs document the walled and unwalled portions of the plot during the March 2010 visit.
