This family burial ground lies near the south shore of Jones Creek (also called Harts Creek), in the Hopewell community. The tract is known as Little Bolton; the source traces its land history from Alexander Draper’s 1663 survey through later Jones and Williams ownership.
During the June 2014 survey, the original gravestones were reported lying near their historic positions on land maintained by the property owner. The photographed site is roughly 70 feet southwest of the creek’s edge.

Cemetery and Research Notes
Phil’s separate 2014 research notes record Severn Tyler’s 1866 estate proceedings, which name his widow Eleanor and children Eliza Bradshaw and John Tyler. An 1839 will of Thomas Russell names Mary, Catherine, Eleanor, and Margaret Russell among his children and refers to the Little Bolton property.
Phil suggested that the “C. H.” footstone might relate to Catherine Russell, but the initials alone do not establish that identification.
