Monie Woods (modern Venton area) · 1877 Atlas map: Dames Quarter District No. 2
Cemetery No. 911-O-24
Located in Monie Woods near the home of George Lawson shown on the 1877 Atlas. The cemetery measures about 50 by 50 feet, on low, wet ground surrounded by young pine. Southeast of the cemetery is an old house site, probably the Lawson home and later associated with Robert Patterson.

A precious one from us has gone.
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled.
Heaven retaineth now our treasure
Earth the lonely casket keeps
and the sunbeams seem to linger
where our darling mother sleeps.

Amiable and beloved wife, farewell!
