Ed’s files use both Maddux Meeting House and Maddux Chapel for the same cemetery at Upper Fairmount, near the former Cecil Ford store at Fishing Island Road. The original describes graves on both sides of that store and a former Methodist meeting-house site established in 1804.
The contributors recorded a local tradition that Martha Hall Thomas, mother of the Rev. Joshua Thomas, was buried below the later store building. The source reports this as a tradition, not an identified inscription. One survey section was previously considered a separate cemetery; the documents explicitly reconcile it into this one burial ground.

Two separate stone fragments with partial inscriptions were recorded near the store, as well as broken stone and brick remains and one unmarked vault among the Hall burials. Additional graves are reported under the old store by local tradition, without identified markers.

Documentation and Sources
Transcription date: 25 March 1995; additional listing 8 April 2001. Contributors: Philip L. Goldsborough, Ed Smith, Becky Miller, Dickie Ford, and Rebecca F. Miller (1995 section).
The companion source file Maddux Chapel Cemetery.pdf describes the same physical burial ground and is supplied for reference. The two PDF names are NOT separate cemeteries.
The source document accidentally labels the north coordinate as “Longitude” and the west coordinate as “Latitude.” The page’s coordinate cards are labeled by the actual directions N and W, without altering the original PDF.
The photographs and PDF disagree on the spelling Briddle/Brindle and the middle initial of Littleton Maddox. These require source-photo review rather than silent correction.
