Friends in Jesus, why these tears
O’er my dull and lifeless day
Would ye see my present bliss
Tears to joy would pass away

[table stone]
In Memory of
Elizabeth A. Ford
Wife of John H. Ford
Born Oct. 11th 1831,
Died Oct. 5th 1856.

She is gone and her friends have marked her tomb,
To drop the term of their sorrow,
She has gone to the land where her beauty will bloom,
Through our everlasting tomorrow.
She dwells in the land where the rose never fades,
Where no tears of affection is stealing.
Where the sun never sets and the night never shades
What the spirit of love is reveling.
