John C. Horsey Cemetery
Coulbourne Creek Road · northwest of Marion Station · Somerset County, Maryland
Cemetery No. 911-FF28-center
Located northwest of the town of Marion Station off of Coulbourne Creek Road on a farm now owned by Fred Wilgus and recently owned by Thomas Whittington now deceased. The farm is on the tract of land called Colbourn patented on 18 August 1663 by Stephen Horsey containing 650 Acres. Most of this land remained in the Horsey family for many years. The site is near the home of J.C. Horsey on the 1877 Atlas of the Eastern Shore.
This site is located in a hedge row near a pond that is connected to a branch issuing out of Coulbourne Creek. The cemetery is not in good condition. We cleared many branches and briars from the site. There is no fence around the graveyard, which measures about 30 x 30.
