Cemetery and Research Notes

Phil’s later note on the 1858 will of James Lawson reports that Lawson reserved the family burial ground from the sale of his land so it would remain available for future family burials.

Phil relocated the cemetery after the 2011 fire and Hurricane Sandy, and corrected the GPS location on December 27, 2013. His 2013 revisit records that John H. Moore’s gravestone was not found on that date. The earlier transcription and photographs remain valuable evidence of the marker.

Original field listing: Philip L. Goldsborough and Rebecca F. Miller, February 12, 1995; retyped March 23, 2006. Phil’s December 2013 revisit corrected the coordinates; his will-related note dates to 2016.
