Location protection: The property owner requested that the exact location of the stones not be revealed. The public page therefore gives only the general Mt. Vernon area and does not publish the near-exact coordinates contained in the working record.

A collection note dated March 17, 2004, states that some of the black-and-white photographs did not turn out and that only four were included in the collection. It also states that the inscriptions were witnessed by three people and believed to be correct.
