The cemetery is in the Fairmount community, south of Fairmount Road in a wooded area that had recently been timbered when the site was documented. The survey notes that the cemetery itself was not disturbed by the logging operation.
The contributor associated the location with the W. E. Ford and J. H. Ford homes shown on the 1877 Atlas and suggested that it probably lay on the tract the Desart, patented to Stephen Horsey for 400 acres on March 10, 1665.
