Unidentified burial — brick grave

Field observation

No inscription recorded.

The 2015 survey noted an unmarked brick grave beside the marked grave of Ann Cullin. The deceased person was not identified.

Cemetery and Research Notes

The contributor recorded the property near the end of Clifton Mister Road, also identified in the source as Nelson Road and Peyton Road. The survey describes the grave site as approximately 290 feet east of the road’s end (magnetic bearing).

A second brick grave was visible but had no inscription. The original report suggests the unmarked grave was unlikely to be that of Ann’s husband because he remarried and was reportedly buried at the Byrd Cemetery at the end of Calvary Road; the identity of the person in the brick grave remains unknown.

Original site survey: Randy Laird Jr., Edward M. Smith, and Philip L. Goldsborough, February 7, 2015. Transcription and location information are from the contributed “George Cullen Home Place” document.
