Located near the Community of Upper Fairmount at the end of Townrow Road. On the southwest side of a gut known as Big Gut on modern maps and Maddux Creek on the 1877 Atlas. Near the homes of D. H. Maddox and N. Boggs in 1877.

The site is located within the bounds of the Ancient Patent called Inclosure issued to Thomas Maddux in 1740 for 590 acres, a resurvey of an earlier tract known as Maddux Inclosure (1680).

John Maddox is taxed for 590 acres on the 1783 tax list. Also near the home of Capt. William T. Ford, on the 1877 Atlas of the Eastern Shore.

Cemetery and Family Notes

Daniel Henry Maddux, son of William and Leah Miles Maddux m. (lic.) 18 May 1836 Susan Upshur M.N. Ballard, daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Waters Ballard. The two Williams and Clara are their children.

In 1870 Daniel H. Maddux was a house carpenter aged 57 living in Potato Neck District #368 with Susan U. 57, Joseph G. 27, Laura H. 21, Sarah M. 18, George 23, Robert F. 17, Clara 11, Daniel E. 9 and Charles W. Hall 20 was also in their household.
