The historic atlas image has been georectified so its roads, waterways, communities, property names, and other features can be compared directly with modern geography.
Cemetery locations are optional and hidden by default. Use the Layers / Cemeteries button below to add Somerset, Wicomico, or Worcester burial sites to the historic map.
Wicomico note: Turning on Wicomico cemeteries loads the county GIS cemetery inventory directly, including its public PDF report links. If the county service is unavailable, the map clearly switches to a static Coalition/WCP fallback. The parcel option adds the GIS property boundaries separately.

1877 overlay: Lower Shore Outline Plan
Map note: The historic overlay is the 1877 Lower Shore Outline Plan from the Lake, Griffing and Stevenson atlas, rectified on MapWarper as map 78766. Rectification aligns a historic map with modern geographic coordinates; small alignment differences are normal because the original atlas survey was not created with modern GPS precision.
