Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Pr. In the name of god Amen I William Turvile of the county and province above sd. being in reasonable health and memory, blessed be god do make this my last will and testament bequeathing my soul to god that gave it me and my body to the earth form whence it came to be decently buried as my Executor hereafter mentioned shall think fit. In hopes of a joyfull resurrection with my lord and savior Jesus Christ in whom I trust, and as for my worldly Estate which it hath pleased almighty god to indure with, I give and bequeath as follows_____ Impr. I make my dear and well beloved wife Margery Turville and my son Wm. Turvile, my whole and sole Executor to serve all things performed, or I shall thereafter mention in this my will___ 2nd I give to my son Wm. Turvill after my decease my Plantation, where I now live containing one hundred and fifty acres of land to be laid out and that it May not prejudice my other two sons to him my sd. Wm. and to his heirs forever, after my wifes decease, for my will that my wife shall have the command of the aforesaid Plantation, so doing as she shall keep her self as widow. 3rd I give to my son Presgrave Turvile, one hundred and fifty acres of land joyning to the land of 4 I give to my son John Turvile one hundred seventy and five acres of land at the head of my neck of land joyning on the creek and on an Anthony Jones land, to him the said John Turvile and to his heirs for ever 5 I give to my aforesaid wife after my debts are paid all my make cattle male sheep, and horses and the best feather bed and furniture in the house thereunto belonging and the use of all other household stuff so long as she my sd. wife shall remain a widow____ 6. I give to my Daughter Areingin Donahoe ten shillings sterling or the value thereof to by her A ring token of my love _____ 7. I will that all the female sheep and mares of my Prop. Mark and are properly mine and all household stuff and necessary tools about my plantation expecting my saddle and bridle gun and sword. I give to my son Presgrave be equally divided between my wife there above sons and my Daughter Elizabeth Turvile and my Daughter Mary Turvile____ 8. I will that my son Presgrave and my son John Turvile be at age to receive there Estates when they shall attain to eighteen years of age if there mother Margery Turvile, should be dead before that but if she be alive and continue a widow then my above two sons to be at age the day of her death or day of her marriage 9. I will that if my son William and my son Presgrave should fence in the marshes at the bottom of the neck then I will that my son John have pasture for twelve cows in there marshes so long as he my son John shall please____ 10. I give my granddaughter Elizabeth Donahoe one heifer and calf to be delivered for her use to whom my Executor shall think fitt the first day of May after my decease and to be recorded at the charge of my Executrix for the afroesd. Elizabeth Donahoe and in case my Grandchild should depart this life before she comes of age then my will is that my daughter Arcadia Donahoe have the said heifer and calf with there increase for her and proper use 12. I will that my Estate in female creatures and household stuff be divided betwixt my above said wife my three sons and two Daughters Elizabeth and Mary within twelve months after my decease that each of them may know there own and the above creatures t remain on my land until my above children shall come of age to dispose of them there selves. In acknowledgement of all the above premises and in hopes of my Executor performance of them, I have hereunto set my hand and seal my fixed my seal on this; before the signing and sealing of this my last Will, I give what hoggs belong to me to my afse. Wife for the use of my family signed and sealed this twenty seventh of February in the year of our lord one thousand six hundred ninety and one____ His William Turvile {seal} Christopher [ I ] Turner Mark his Thomas [x] Lederook Mark his James [I] Philips Mark His John [I] Jackson Mark Memorandum that probate was made of this will by the oath of James Philips and John Jackson who also swore that they saw Christopher Turner and Thomas Ladercrooke set two their hands as witnesses to this Will and Testament, Sworne on the holy Evangelist this 20th day of June 1698.
