Transcription
In the name of God Amen I William Nox of Somerset County in the Province of
Maryland Planter being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect
memory thanks be to god for the same, do make, constitute ordain and
appoint this my Last Will and Testament, revoaking and making null and void
all former Wills by me heretofore made and this only to be my last Will and
Testament first I give and bequeath my soul into the armes of my blessed
Savior and redeemer Jesus Christ in hopes of a Joyfull resurrection, and my
body, I bequeath to the Earth from whence it was taken to have such decent
and Christian like burial as my Executrix hereafter named shall think
filling and a s touching such worldly Estate god in his Mercy hath been
pleased to bestow upon, me I give and bequeath as followeth____
Imp. I give and bequeath unto my Dear and loving wife Margred Nox one
third part of my Plantation lying at the Poeossons[?????], during her
natural life____
Item I give and bequeath unto my loving son Rob. Nox all my land lying at
the Paeoson that I purchased of Wm. Owens of the County afsd. Called Bella
Shima, containing one hundred and fifty acres to the sd. Robt. Nox and his
heirs and assigns for ever____
Item I give and bequeath unto my Dear and loving wife Margaret Nox and my
two children, Robert and Anne Nox, all my personal Estate in Maryland and
also where after all my just debts are paid to be equally divided amongst
them, to them and their heirs forever
Item I do will and appoint my loving son Robert Nox to be of age to enjoy
and take into his possession, both real and personal Estate, before by me
bequeathed, unto him, when he shall arrive to the age of eighteen years___
Item lastly I so make constitute ordain and appoint my dear and loving
wife Margaret Nox whole and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and
Testament and my two brothers James Nox and John Polke to be my overseers
and aiding and assisting to my sd. Wife as need shall require of this my
sd. Will as Witness my hand and seal this fourth day April Anno dom 1698~
