In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Gibbins Snr. of Somerset County in the State of Maryland being very sick of body but Sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this World when it shall please God to call me hence I do therefore make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of Executor herein after named and after my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath as Follows, Item I give and bequeath to my son William Gibbins that Land that he holds in possession where he now lives adjoining to the Lands that his uncle John Gibbins left him which may be three Quarters of an Acre more or less to him during his life. Item I give and bequeath to my son Robert Gibbins my Manner plantation whereon I now live with the houses an premises thereon to him his heirs and assigns for ever also I give to my son Robert Gibbins my young horse and one yoke of oxen and hand Mill one negro Woman named Hannah also all my plantation hutensials to him his heirs and assigns for Ever I will that my son Robert Gibbins should not sell nor turn the negro woman Hanner away of from the Plantation where she now lives. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Gibbins the back Room of my Dwelling house as long as she shall live a single life and if my son Robert Gibbins should refuse to let my Daughter Nancy Gibbins have the room above mentioned I Will and desire that he should pay her the sum of Fifteen pounds a year during her single life also I give to my Daughter Nancy Gibbins her first choice of one of my feather beds and my riding horse ,one spinning wheel and my loom two Cows & calves and my great pot to her her heirs and assigns for Ever Item I give and bequeath to my Son Robert Gibbins and my Daughter Nancey Gibbins all my Indian Corn all my Bacon all my flax all my Wooll and all my Cotton to be equally divided between them also I give to my Daughter Nancey Gibbins one negro man named Joe to her her heirs and assigns for ever. Item I give to my Grand daughter Ester the Daughter of my Daughter Pricey Gibbins my next best feather Bed likewise leave her in the care of my son Robert Gibbins until she is groan up. Item I give to my son Samuel Gibbins one heifer yearling to him his heirs for ever. Item I give to my son Zadock Gibbins one heifer yearling to him his heirs for Ever. Lastly after my Debts and Funial Charges are paid I dispose of the remainder of Estate as follows to my son William Gibbins and my son Zekiel Gibbins and my son Josiah Gibbins and my Daughter Nancey Gibbins and my Grand Daughter Ester the Daughter of my Daughter Pricey Gibbins to be equally divided among them five to them there heirs and assigns for ever. Last of all I constitute and appoint my son William Gibbins and my Son Robert Gibbins my hole and Sole Executers of this my last Will and Testament disanuling and denying all other Wills heretofore made by me acknowledging and publishing this to be my last will and Testament and no other whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty fourth day of February Ano Dom: one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninty five Sealed published and declard by Thomas Gibbins Senr. to be his last Will and Testament in presents of us the Subscribers. Joseph Tilghman, James Gibbins, George Mitchell Thomas (his mark X) Gibbins (Seal) May the 5th day 1795 Then came William Gibbins & Robert Gibbins & made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that the within instrument of writing is the true & whole last Will & Testament of Thomas Gibbins late of Somerset County deceased that hath come to their hands or possession & that they do not know of any other. Before Esme Bayly Reg. W.S.C. May the 5th day 1795 Then came Joseph Tilghman & James Gibbins two of the subscribing Witnesses to the within last Will & Testament of Thomas Gibbins late of Somerset County deceased & severally made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator within named sign & seal the within Will, that they heard him publish pronounce & declare the same to be his last Will & Testament & at the time of his so doing he was to the best of each of their apprehensions of sound & disposing mind memory & understanding & that they did respectively subscribe their names as Witnesses to the same in the presence & at the request of the Testator & in the presence of each other: And they further depose that they saw George Mitchell subscribe his name as a Witness to the within Will in the presence & at the request of Thomas Gibbins the within Testator.
