In the name of god Amen I Samuel Long of the County of Somerset and ye Province of Maryland: being in body Sick and weak but of perfect and Sound Memory blefsed by ye Almighty god for the same Considering the Uncertainty of this present Life And will knowing that is appointed of god for all me to die Wherefore for the More peacably and orderly Regulating of my now present concerns, I do in ye first place as in all duty bound Comitt my Soul to god that gave it And Whensoever that god shall be pleased to difsolve this Earthly Tabernackle of mine to ye Earth to be buried in A Christian like Manner at and According to ye descretion of my Executor here after Named and for these Temporell blefsings where with god has been pleased to Intrust me with all, I give And bequeath in Manner and form following Imprs I doe Order that after my decease that all my daughters shall be free and as their Own Disposing at ye age of Fifteen ______ Item: I give unto Anna Long my daughter one Cow and Calf by ye Name of May flour, together with their Increase as well male and female to his and her Item I give and bequeath unto Sam Long one cow and calf called Swallow together with their increase as well male as female to her heirs for ever _______ Item I give and bequeath unto my now loving wife Elizabeth Long three Cows the one of them with Calf named crumple the other two called young buck and broken Rump also I give unto my said wife my biggest chest, together with the bed on which we at present Repose ______ Item I give unto my daughter Anna my small Cyprefs box together with the bed whereon ufually she teeth And as for the Iron potts and drie Cattle I order that they continue amongst them all for ye Generall benefit of ye formely without there happen any disturbance or disagreement conscerning ye Same then ye Same to be composed by ye judgment of Two Indifferent honest Neighbours legally chofen and also the Hoggs I Leave likewise to be Improved for ye farms And as for ye good of ye family as also to pay debts ______ Item I give unto my Loving daughter Elizabeth ye wife of Isaac Beston one Shilling, Money (?) of England to be paid and delivered unto her by my Executor, after my decease ______ Item, I give and bequeath unto Jeffery Long a just and Equall fifth part of my prefent plantation that is to Say tract of Land I Live on his portion or Lott According to my Will and desire to begin bordering upon Jeffery Mitchells and so reaching my now dwelling plantation ______ Item I give and bequeath unto my son William Long my now plantation on which I now dwell together Containing an Equall fifth part of ye Said Tract of Land and no More as also I do after my deceafe declare it is my absolute Will and pleasure that my son William shall be free and at his own disposall as soon as he ye Said Wm Shall Acquire to ye age of Sixteen years ______ Item I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel Long one other Equall fifth part portion being a fifth beginning where Daniel Ended and so runing for his Completment upon the Mulberry Ridge ______ Item I give and bequeath unto my son David Long alfo his Equall part and portion together with his aforenamed brothers beginning where John Long left of and so Joyning upon ye Land of George Wilson and alfo I order that my said son David be free and at his own choice at ye years of Sixteen ______ Item I give unto my son Randall Long that Tract of Land Lying upon (Mourmfeddams ?) Called Long Lott together with its patent and all other perqutites there unto belonging that is to say I give there aforesaid tracts or dividends of Land unto my aforesd Sons to them and their heirs for Ever, further it is my will and pleasure that In case any of my aforesaid sons should after to sell or part with his portion of Land that he shall have no power to Efect ye Same unlefs his other brothers shall Relinquish ye Same, but that they shall have the first refusall of the Same ______ Item I give unto my son John Long one Cow. Called gentle big with calf and Two heifers the one a dash brown the other abrindle with aslair in ye forehead ______ Item I give unto my son Daniel Long one Cow Called Brindle with a Calf by her Side and Two heifers the one of them big with Calf Item I give unto my son Jeffery one (? Fried ) Cow big with Calf. Called Rose ______ Item I give unto my son Randall one young brown heifer Near three years Old ______ Item I give unto my son David One Cow big with Calf as is Supposed called Nightingale ______ Item I give unto my son Wm one dark brown heifer near three years old (?) I give these aforesaid Cattle unto my aforesaid recited Sons them and there Increase to them and their heirs for Ever ______ Item It is my will and pleasure that what sheep shall be Left after my departure shall Run and Remain for ye good and benefit of ye family and if any contention should arise upon the Same the aforesd sheep to be Equally divided by two Indifferent Neighbours Legally chofen further I Leave one horse and Mare to remain amongst my aforesd Children for the proper Interest and benefit of all and Singular of them and the Increase of SD Mare if any hereafter happens to them and their heirs for Ever Item I give my other Two beds as yet undisputed of Amongst my Six sons. No one of them having power to Claim a greater privilege in them then the other also one old chest I Leave Amongst my sons who as yet have none and one other cyprefs chest with Lock and Key I give unto my son John Long and for all other household Necefsary I leave to y good of the family in Generall, And Lastly for the due regulating and absolute performing of this my last will and testament I do hereby Constitute Nominate and Appoint my Loving son John to be my Sole and abfotule Executor as Witnefs my Hand and Seale this 26th day of Novem 1695 ______ Signed Sealed and delivered In ye presence of us Samuel Long {Seale} the mark his mark John IM Moore the mark Jeffery HA Mithcell John Heath ______ Memorandum that this day being the 18th of Decem 1695 the will before written was proved by the Oaths of John More, Jefferey Mitchell and John Heath who all made oath that they saw the Testater Sam Long Sign and Seale the said Will and heard him declare the Same to be his Last Will and Testament ______ Witnefses Posted the day above Hopkins D Com Granted Letters Testamony with Coppice Will Annexed Swore the Exect Appraisers Recorded in Liber EB No 5 folio 178 and 179 ~ Examined Test Efme Bayly Regr W.S.C
