Somerset County in Maryland In the name of God Amen I Robert Richardson did
Make and Order the under Written Instrument to be my Last Will and
Testament being Weak in body but through Gods Mercy of asound Mind in the
first place I Bequeath when God shall call my soul to him that gave it and
My body to ye Ground and after A decent funeral Expence and my Debts are
paid I give to my son William the One half of One Thousand acres of Land pt
of Two Thousand acres wch five hundred acres I give my said son William
Lyeth on the Northermost side of the Neck called Mount Ephraim wch is to be
(resen ?) out by right Line from the Middle of the Neck upon the sea side
continued unto the first Lines wch runnes Cross the Neck the wch Land I
give unto him his heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns to have and to
hold for Ever also I give unto my said Son One horse of Two years old wch
is called my said Sons horse also I give my said son my Hanger and Pistell

I give unto My Daughter Elizabeth a piece of Land about three Hundred and
fifty acres of Land pt of the afored Tract of Two thousand Acres of Land
bounded as followeth ~ beginning at A marked Hickory on the North side of
the Mane dami wth a line continued cross the Neck my Dwelling
house stands in till it comes to the Northermost dame & then up the Dame
wch Aright Line from thence to the head Line and soe Along the head line
above the Neck untill it interect A Line wch comes away from the said head
Line to the same Tree On the North side of said Dame wch peace of Land be
it more or Less I give unto my said Daughter Elizabeth her heirs Executors
Administrators & Assigns to have and to hold for ever also I give unto my
said Daughter Elizabeth one Bay Mare Called Elizabeths Mare wth all her
Increase for Ever. Except ye first Colt of said Mare for my Daughter
Tabitha also I give unto my said Daughter Elizabeth One Cowe and Calfe & A
Two year old heifer wth there increase for Ever wthin one year after my
decease to be delivered ~~~~
I give Unto my Daughter Susanna Two Cows one Two yr old heifer one yearling
heifer & calf all wch being Marked wth her Mark and called her wch I give
unto my said Daughter Susanna her heirs & Assigns wth all there increase
for Ever to be delivered wthin one year after my decease ~~~~
I give unto my Daughter Tabitha three Cows and calves wth all there female
Increase wch are to be marked for her wthin One year after my decease wch I
order to be delivered unto her or her heirs Assigns upon my said Daughter
her coming to ye age of Sixteen years wch I give unto her her heirs &
assigns for Ever wth a Colt be it male or female which comes first of the
Mare I give as above Reserved from my Daughter Elizabeth for Ever I give
unto my son Robert [three hundred & fifty acres of land lying near St.
Martins River in this County called Vernum Deane to him his heirs Execrs
adm and assigns to have and to hold for ever] and in case of said son
Robert his decease before he Marryeth or comes to the age of twenty One
years then I give the said land Equally to be divided betwixt my Two
Daughters Tabitha & Sarah Each for their Own pt after divided to have and
to hod for their heirs Executors Admr & Assigns for Ever ~~~~
I give unto my son Charles One Cow & Calf wth all there female Increase wch
are to be Marked for him within One year after my decease wch I order to be
delivered to him or his Assigns upon my said son his coming to the age of
Sixteen years wch I give unto him his heirs & Assigns for Ever ~~~~
Also I give unto my son Charles five hundred Acres of Land pt of Two
thousand acres by Patent Called Mount Ephriam wch five hundred Acres Lyeth
in the south side of the Neck my Dwelling house Stands in & upon the North
side of the Same house Creek of One Side & the other in the Middle of the
neck from the sea betwixt ye Land as above I give my son William & on the
head by the Line bounding the Lands I gave my Daughter Elizabeth Cross the
Neck the said Land my son Charles to Injoy wth all the [conveniences of
building & fencing Ortchard & other Emoluments after he comes to ye age of
Eighteene years reserving to my wife Susanna her thirds in ye sd plantation
soe long as she lives upon it or his willing to live upon ye] said land and
after my said wife her remove of decease I give the said Land Plantation
and all ye Conviences Appertaining to my said Son Charles his heirs Exr:
Adms: and afsigns for Ever to have and to hold ~~~~
I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth the Negro Girl called Nanney wth all her
Increase for Ever after my Wife Susannah her decease ~~~~
I give unto my Neighbour & friend John Osborne his heirs Executors Admr &
Assigns for Ever to have & to hold A tract of Land called Watermillion pt
containing Six hundred & fity [sic.] Acres be it More or Less bounded by
Alexander [Williams] on the south side by the sea on the Eastermost by a
Creek called Tanhouse Creek on the Northermost side [& soe] making upto A
main beaver Dam on the North Side of wch is A marked Hickory & A Line
Running from the wth apalell Line to ye on the other side betwixt
Alexander Williams & Said water Millian Pt I do hereby declare [that] I
have recived Available consideration of the said Osbourn for the same viz
Two Negroes and a Certain Sum of Tobacco which in honesty moves me hereto
yh no man by me may Loose his right I give the said Land wth all ye
improvemts there uppon and conviences thereto belonging unto the said John
Osborne his heirs Executrs or Admrs & assigns to have and to hold for Ever
I do hereby delcare My Wife Susanna to be the full and sole Executer of
this my above said Last Will & Testament do hereby declare the above aid
Instrument to obey my Last will & testement As Witness my hand & Seal this

serious thoughts wth my selfe about what in my Life tym have Exercised
acted and done & desireing ye Every one may remain possesed of their Just
rights yt have purchased any thing of me & knowing how apt me are to take
advantage be it remembered ye what I give my son William and ye rest of my
Children in the wthin Mentioned will is no longer nor otherwise Intended
nor given them than they [quitt] claime of All & every pt of Land I have by
any means sold given or Conveyed at any time or times & if by ye buyers
said or demanded of the Heir surviving the said heir to Convey ye Same
Especially ye Land that in Right of my Susanna Lying in Oecahannack River
in Accomack in Virgina ~~~~ ~~~~
I Also having sould A piece of Land to Richard Hill quantitye four Hundred
and fifty acres & not orderly Conveyed I give the Land to Richard Hill his
heirs and assigns for ever ye same to have & to hold for Ever ~~~~
I also give unto my Daughter Elizabeth over & above what I gave her in my
wthin mentioned will two Cows and Calves wth all their Increase for her her
heirs & assigns for Ever to Injoy & to be delivered her in One year after
my decease this addition no ways to crosse or contradict what I have in the
wthin mentioned Will given or bequeathed to any pson or psons Whatsoever
but to Confirm ye Some & make it as Stable and firm as if writ all at One
time as Witness my hand and seale this Twentieth day of 1681 ~~~~

I Robert Richardson wthin and above subscribed having had A Long continued
distemper since the wthin & above mentioned Last will & Testament being
made do find Ocasion to make these following Additions ~~~~ I give and
bequeath unto my son William besides what is before given him Two hundred
and fifty acres of land known by the name of Hilliards Mistake Lying near
the head of Assateage bay in this County ye wch Land I own to have recd
avalluble Consideration for of my said son William & not having Optunity of
giving [an ordrly] conveyance I give the said Two hundred & fifty acres of
Land to my said son his heirs Executers & assigns to [have] and to hold for
Ever ~~~~
[I give & bequeath unto my daughter Susanna beside what I gave her before
within menconed a tract of Land knowne by ye name of Chance quantity one
hundred] Acres Lying near Buckingham plantation in this county belonging to
Mr John White the wch hundred acres of Land I give and bequeath unto my
said Daughter Susanna her Executors & Assigns to have & to hold for Ever
