Transcription
In the Name of God Amen I Peter Parsons In the County of Somerset in the
Province of Maryland being sick and weak in body yet thanks be to god in
perfect sense and memory doe make and ordain this to be my last will and
Testament in manner and form as followeth Viz~ First I give and bequeath my
sole to almighty god that gave it and my body to the earth to be decently
buried Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my first born son Peter Parsons
my my plantation whereon I now dwell it containing two hundred acres of
land with all rights and privileges belonging thereunto to him and his
heirs heirs forever ~ Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my second son John
Parsons being the youngest a parcell of land containing two hundred acres
it being and lying at the place called the forrest Lately bought of Tom.
Cocks to his his heirs forever_____ Fourthly I give and leave in the hands
of my well beloved wife Mary Parsons my whole Estate of Moveables during
the time of her widowhood but after that she shall dispose of herself to an
other husband then no more but her heirs according to act of assembly and
the remainer to my two sons above mentioned, and I do further appoint and
make my two sons Peter and John Parsons to be at age and for themselves at
the time of eighteen years____
Further I do desire and request Phillip Ashew and John Booth to be
overseers over my children and the whole concerns above mentioned and unto
them my will and desire I sett my hand and seale this 6 day of November
1686.
