Maryland Pr. In the name of god Amen I Nicholas Carpenter of Back Creek in Somerset County and Province of Maryland Planter who being sick of body but in perfect Memory blessed be almighty god and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life, doe make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following and revoking anulling and making void all former will and wills formily make by me either by word or writing and do declare this my last Will and Testament Viz______ First it is my will that all debts due by me I conscience to any person or persons whatsoever be duly and thankfully paid within convenient time after my decease. It is my Will and pleasure that what worldly Estate the Lord hath mercyfully bestowed upon me farr above my presents, the one equall half of all my goods and chattles. I give and bequeath unto my lawfull wife Mary together with the full use of the whole plantation I now possess for and untill my Daughter Cleare Carpenter be full sixteen years of age_____ I and bequeath the other moyetty of all my goods and chattles unto my Lawfull daughter Cleare Carpenter to be disposed of for her use by my Executor hereafter mentioned, And for the putting this my last will and testament in due Execution I leave Major Robert King and Capt. John King both of Manokin in the county and province afse. My executors In testimony whereof I do hereunto sett my hand and seale this second day of Nov.
