Somerset Is[?] Know all men by these presents that I Nehemiah Covington Senr of the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland Planter for many good Causes and Considerations there unto Moving do Constitute and Appoint My well beloved Wife Ann Covington to be my True & Lawfull Attorney for me and in my Name to sue persons Receive discharge aquit Release and to take into her Custody all and Singular whatsoever I at the Signing and Sealing are possessed of both Moveable and Inmoveable as goods & Chattles or any other debts due to me by Bill and Acomph and further of it should please god to take me away that my said Attorney and Loveing wife I make my Executrix to whom at her Discharge, I give & bequeath all and Singular what I have Lands goods & Chattles and Do Ratify Allow & Confirm all and Singular whatsoever Only Said Attorney shall so in My Stead or behalf in as good and Ampell manner as if I wore personaly present Allowing More Attorneys under her if Occasion leaves to Action doe in My place and Stead sofarforth as ye. Law and wise in Sure Cases In Conformation of the Truth In the above written have to the also Presents sett to my Hand and fixed my Seal this Seventeenth day of January A. Dom. 1679/80 ~ Signed Sealed and Delivd The Seale In ye Presents of us ~~ Nehemiah [ Mark]Covington {Seale} Wm Stevens Benjamin Walker _____ Ints. in Recorde 27th day of January Ammo Dom1679/80 ~~ Imi. Edm. Beauchamp [?] for County Somert June the 9th 1681 By virtue of a comision to me Directed from the Hbl Judge and comissary General for the probate of wills or of called the withen named William Stevens before me who made oath that Nehemiah Covington Signed Sealed the within Mentioned as his act and deed and further that Benjamin Walker was a witness with him who is departed out of this County which is humble Certified A[?] Will Stevens Indoresement Into.
