Transcription
In the name of God Amen this 17th day of October Anno Dom 1698. I Miles
Harrison of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland being sick in body
yet of perfect memory and remembrance, blessed be god and calling to mind
the frailty of his life do hereby these presents constituted make and
ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
And first I give and bequeath my soul unto the hands of Almighty god, in
sure and everlasting hope, through the meritorious death and passion of
Jesus Christ my savior to receive free pardon and remission of all my sins.
Next I bequeath my body to the ground to be decently buried according to
the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as to my personal and
real Estate, which it hath pleased god to bestow upon beyond my deserts I
give and bequeath in manner and form following, but first I will that all
these debts, I owe in right and justice to any manner of person or persons
be duly paid in convenient time after my decease, and I do hereby revoke
and disanull all other will or wills heretofore by me made, wither by word
or writing and this only to be my Last Will and no other, Imprimus, I give
unto Charles Comer son of James Comer of the County afsd. my Plantation and
land called Hackley Hole containing fifty acres lying in Parrakawkin in the
County afsd. to him the sd. Charles and to his heirs for ever___
Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Comer sister of the sd. Charles two cows
and their calves to her the sd. Mary and to her heirs for ever ___
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Archibald Smith of the County my
full and sole Executor in Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal the day and year afsd.

Sin. Yo recd. and shall not be unmindfull of the request Archibald Smith
and Bearrer requested me to signifie my knowledge relating to what I heard
Miles Harrison say relating to his will which as followeth Viz. A settle
before his death, that he the sd. Miles would make his will and that
Archibald Smith should be his Executor and none also, for which I did
reprive him but nothing could dissuade him to the contrary, Richard
Plunkett was moved by some t be exp. But the sd. Miles seemed very averse
and by no means would yield that Plunkitt should be concerned Wm. Banister
will attest the same as afsd. Let who will _______ I mean to try for what
Miles left I being the greatest creditor nay more ___ all the rest besides
and for the very land he has bequeathed, and therefore ought of right to
Aond. the which I leave to that proudence remaining
