In the name of god Amen I John Roberts of Somerset County in ye province of Maryland planter being at this present time very Sick and weak of Body of perfect Mind an Memory praised be the Mighty God make this my Last will and Testament Revoking all former wills by me Made in the first place I will and bequeath my Imortall soul into the hands of god that gave me freely beleaving there the precious meritts of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full pardon and remifsion of all my Sins my body ~ I bequeath to ye Ground from whence it was taken to be Entered at the discretion of my Loving Wife and for the Temporall Estate which hath pleased go to blefs me with all my Debts being in the first place paid and Discharged I give and bequeath as followeth ~ Imprimis I give and bequeath to John Walton one cow and calf and to Elizabeth Lord One Cow and Calf and to my Sister Richardson youngest Daughter One Cow and Calf to Graes Pinewell One Mair Colt which runs as Wm Cords and one young horse which is in Northampton County and Two thousand pounds of Tobacco that is In Northampton County and ye rest of any Estate to my Loving Elizabeth ~ As Witnefs my hand and Seale this first Day of Novem In ye year of our Lord 1687 ~ ~ Signed Sealed and Delive in Presence of us....... Daniel S Selby his Mark John Roberts ~ {Seal} Richard R Johnson his Mark Thomas Purnell ~ Somerset County Pachet Recorded ye 17th 1688 Appraisers Sworne 7ber ye 22nd 1688 Lewitt Mr Scarbrough and Mr Cord, according to renall form 8 ber the 10th 1688 before me Came Thomas Purnell and Daniel Selby And made oath that they saw John roberts, Administratrix Within named took her Oath before me upon the holy Evangelist zr, betwix as per form of the Oath ~ given under my hand and Seale as said ~ Sam Hopkins {Seal} Memorandum that the within named Richard Johnson is a resident in our County not now to be found}
