In the name of God Amen the 3rd day of September 1687 in the third year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King James the second. I John Murpehy of the County of Somerset and Province of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory praise be given to god for the [time]??? , and knowing the uncertainty of this life and earth and being desirous to settle things in order do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first principally I commend my soul to almighty God my creater assuredly believing that I shall receive full pardon and full confession of all my sins and be saved by the precious death and merits of my blessed savior and redeemer Christ Jesus and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent Christian manner as to my Executrix hereafter named shall be thought [mech???] and [conviont???] And as touching such worldly Estate as the lord in Mercy hath lent me, my will and meaning is the same shall be imployed and bestowed as hereafter by this my will is expressed. And first I doe revoke renounce and frustrate and make void all wills formerly by me made and declared and appoint this my last Will and Testament. Item I give and bequeath unto my Loving wife Bridget who is my Executrix of this my last Will and Testament on e tract of land called Kihoney??? Containing four hundred acres during her natural life and then to be equally divided between my tow sons Thomas and John, I doe further give and bequeath unto my said Executrix all my goods debts and chattles only two guns to my sons aforementioned, and one Mare her own by the name of Betty with her increase to run in common for the good of all my children, begotten of my body while the younger comes of age and then to be equally divided among them In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and year above mentioned______ Signed Sealed In the presence Of us______ John [mark]Jones Elizabeth [E] Williams John [mark] Murfie- {seale} Mark James Round June the 9th Anno Dom. 1688 Then came personally before me Mr. James Round John Jones and Elizabeth Williams. Witnesses to the withen written will and made oath that they saw the testator John Murfie sign and seale the sd. Will and heard him declare the same to be his last Will and Testament________ The day above mentioned Thomas Morriss administrator impowered and authored thereunto by the Hon. Henry Darnall and Clement Hill Esq. Judges of probates of wills and granting adminstrations and he came in his proper person and before me took the oath of an Adm. Verbatim as [pfame]??? Of the oath_____ The same sd. Day before me came John Smock and John Miller appraisers appointed of the goods and chattles of John Murfie and took the oath proper to them given under m hand and seale as [???] order of Honored Coll???
