In ye name of God Amen the Twenty Seventh day of October in ye your of our Lord hod One Thousand Six hundred Seventy Three I James Jones of ye County of Somerset in ye province of Maryland Planter being in good health and perfect Memory thanks be to ye Lord, do make and Ordain this my Last will and Testament in Manner Following ______ First I commend my Sole into the hands of Almighty God hoping and afuredly believing that I shall obtain Everlasting life through ye __: pretious and Meritourius death of my Lord and Saviour Jefus Christ and my body I comit to ye Earth from whence it was (Eahen ?) Item I do herby give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Sarah Jones and my Cousin Andrew Jones all my Moneys Goods Chattles and things yt I shall be pofsefsed with all after my debts are paid, to be Equally devided betwixt them within Six weeks after my death, to them and to there heirs for Ever______ Item I give and devise unto my Said Loving wife Sarah Jones all that my Mefsage Lands and primeses together with ye appertanances Sectuale Lying and being in Wicomico in ye County of Somerset ye with I now Occupy..called Rice Lands ye which was delinated to me by Nicholafs Rice of ye County of Somerset aforesaid during her Natural Life and after her deceased, I give and devise all ye aforesaid Mefsage Lands and premifes together with ye Appertenances Situated lying and being in Wicoiomico aforesaid Called Rice Lands unto my Cousin Andrew Jones to him and his heirs for Ever ______ Item I give and devise unto my said Loving wife Sarah Jones ye One half of Two tracts of Land lying as the Seabourd Side the other half belonging Unto George Johnson land to his Heirs called ye Poplar Ridge Containing Two hundred Acres and ye other called Jones's adventure Containing five Hundred Acres More or lefs, to her and her heirs for Ever ______ Item I give and devise unto my Cousin Andrew Jones all yt my tract of Land Called Taylor Hell Lying in Wicocomoco in ye County of Somerset together wit all ye rights previlledges and apertenance thereunto belonging to him and to his heirs for Ever ______ Item I give and Devise unto my Cousen Andrew Jones all ye my tract of Land Called the Sunken grounds lying betwixt Rice Lands and Taylor Hell in ye County aforesaid, together with all ye Rights priviledges and Appertenances thereunto belonging, to him and to his heirs for Ever ______ Item I do Make and Ordain my Loving Wife Sarah Jones sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament ______ Item I do Make and Ordain George Johnson and Charles Huttfesn Overseers of this my Last Will and Testament ______ Provided always and my will and Meaning is yt if any of them my said Wife Sarah Jones or my Cousen Andrew Jones or any of their heirs shall said Molest or trouble one the other or any of them or ye heirs on of ye other for in sespect of the Mefsages Lands Or premises yt I have before given or devised Unto them or any of them or if any of them shall Enter upon ye Mefages Lands Or testements that I have given Unto ye other or other of them that then ye party so living disturbing or Entring upon ye lands and Tenements given or devised unto the other of them his or their heirs shall loose all advantages of this my Last will and Testament ______ Witnefs his Mark Edm: Beauchamp James T T Jones {Seal} George Johnson By virtue of a Comifsion to me directed from the Judge or Comifsary Gent for probate of Wills and Granting Admenistration of : ______ These are humbly to Certifie that the within Mentioned as the Last will and testament of James Jones is proved by the Oaths of Edmond Beauchamp and George Johnson, ( Wittnefses there unto) the Thirteenth day of November Anno Dom 1677.
