I James Barnabe living on Munnokin in the Province of Mariland being weak of body but of perfect Memory do Ordain this my last Will and Testament committing my Soul unto God that gave me and my body unto the dust from when it was taken in full assurance of the resurrection to come through the Merits and death of my blefsed Saviour Jesus Christ my Will and desire is to be buried with a Solemn and decent burial according to the ~ ancient Custom that is used in the new Prodistant Church in England disposing of my Estate as follows Viz. Impz. I give unto my well beloved Wife Mary Barnabe my Horse and the little feather Bed where on fhe lies wth ye furniture there unto belonging and one flock Bed and furniture as a foresaid also two Cows and two Heifers of two years old and one yearling Heifer that fell this year and all her increase and also one great iron Pott and one little Cittell and one brafs Skillet and ye first Mare Folls that ~ falls and also I make her my whole and fole Executrix ~ It: I give unto my well beloved son James Barnabe Junr the two hundred Acres of Land inprefsed by Patten and also the Mare Colt that fell this year with her increase also two Cows called Mad Cap and black Befse with their Calves that fell this year and their increase also a long Gun ~ It: I give unto my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Barnabe fhe has One Cow called White face and Calf given by her God-Father Coll Will: Kendall and all her increase also two Cows called Chance and Primrofe and one two yearling heifer and all their increase also One Feather Bed where on I lie with furniture there unto belonging and in case that my Wife should want Clothing she fhall cut the Curtains also I give also One great Coper Kettel and one of the fmall iron potts and also the old Mare called Genno and her increase also two pewter dishes and one Bason my Will is that my daughter Elizabeth should have my Bible ~ It: I give unto my well beloved daughter Rebecka Barnabe two Cows called Bivione and Humphries and one two year old Heifer with two yearlings that fell this year also one young Mare being two year old that feather Bed that ftands in the Middle Room and furniture there unto belonging and also One Coper Kettle one iron pott my Will and desire is in Cafe ~ that my Wife should be in want twoo make sale of any Horse flesh that the Children hath here mentioned and also to make use of all things that is in ye House for the childrens good and Godly edification to dispose like wise of any Cattle In case that my Wife doth Marry my defire is that the said Man fhall put in Security for the childrens Cattle and other goods here fpecified in case the said Husband fhould refuse to take charge of the cattle and other goods as above said that then the Overseers are to lett and dispofe of them to their best knowledge and most advantage for the children when they come to age and in case that my Wife doth leave the Plantation before the Children be of Age to lett it out there shall be but three hands to plant on it and to make on Orchett of Two hundred Trees the one half ~ Winter Fruit the other Summer leaving sufficient fencing on it and a (Cout ?) it and a House ~ Twenty five foot in length and eighteen foot Wide My Will and desire is making my fon of Age at Sixteen years old and my two daughters at fifteen years of Age the longest liver is to pofses all and in case that God should call death Wife and children before the children comes of age my desire is that John Whitthed Junr dwelling in Northampton County in the limats of Virginia is lawfully to injoy all ~ My desire is to have Mr. Heugh Ryeoj and Charles Hall to be my overfeers of this my last Will and Testament peferered desirng them to the Almightys sake to afsist [blank] or Children upon a condition that they or her shall stand in want of their afsistance as Witnefs my Hand and Seal this 26th of January in the year of our lord and Saviour One thousand fix hundred fixty and five Test: Patrick Kemings James Barnaby {Seal} Robt Sewan At a Court held for the Countie of Sommersett in Province of Maryland the 28th day of May 1667 Comrs present Vit Mr. William Stevens, Capt William Thorne, Mr. James Jones, Mr. John Winder, Mr. George Johnson.
