In the name of God Amen nob.r 17th 1695. The Last Will and Testament of Gilbert Taylor of the County of Somerset and Province of Maryland who being in perfect sences and memory though weak in body is willing to settle in order the small Estate god almighty hath been pleased to bestow upon him doth ordain this as his last Will and Testament revoking all other wills and testaments______ _________ _________ First bequeathing his soul unto the hands of this blessed redeemer and only savior Jesus Christ and his body to be burried in Christian like manner at the discretion of his Executrix after mentioned____ Impr. I bequeath to eldest son Walter Taylor and his heirs one hundred and twenty five acres of land joyning upon St. Martins River and also joyning upon the plantation of Teague Quillane._____ Item I bequeath to my son James Taylor and his heirs one hundred and twenty five acres of land belonging to the dame tract and to his heirs forever Item I bequeath and ordain my whole moveables Estate to be equally divided amongst all my children and I also ordain that every one of them shall receive this equall share, when they shall come to age , which shall be sixteen years_____ Item I leaveth to my dear wife Judith Taylor two hundred fifty acres of land to live upon during her widowhood, which lyeth upon St. Martin, River and also to have one equall share of all the moveables, and if my Dear wife shall marry my two boys to have liberty to choose there guardians at fourteen years of age, likewise I bequeath to my son James Taylor one cow calf being upon the to pot the boy to school. Item I order one thousand pounds of Tobacco, in cash, in the hands of In. Dennis to be paid towards the tow hundred and fifty acres of land. Likewise Abraham Knott five hundred pounds of Tobacco, in cash owned before Walter Taylor and Edward McDaniell, likewise Walter Taylor five hundred pounds of Tobacco in cash all which Tobacco, I order for the payment of the sd land___ Rowland Beavins Jun. Three hundred and seventy pounds of Tobacco in cash, John Laws of Accomack fifteen hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco in cash all by bill expecting fifty pounds of Tob. Likewise I order one mare to be sold and also one gunn all the aforesd. Tobacco to be payed to Teague Quillans or his order and likewise I ordain that the aforesd. Testament and every every article thereof be fullfiled also I leave my Dear Wife, my sole Executrix____ Signed and Sealed in the presents of us~ Thomas Quillaine his Rowland Beavins Jun. Gilbert [GT] Taylor {Seale} Peter Lawder mark Memorandum that this 15th day of March 1695, Probate was made of this will by the oaths of the witnesses above mentioned being all sworne upon the holy Evangelist by me- S.
