I Eliza G. Smith of Baltimore City, State of Maryland do make ordain
this as and for my last will and testament. Item 1st I leave in the
hands of my Brother Morris N. Adams the sum of one hundred and twenty
five dollars to be used in purchasing a tomb stone for me after my
decease Item 2d I give and bequeath to my sister Leah Jane Anderson the
sum of Four hundred dollars Also I bequeath to my said sister Leah Jane
Anderson my wardrobe Item 3d I give and bequeath to my niece Adaline T.
Adams the sum of Four hundred Dollars in Cash I also give to my said
niece Adaline T. Adams my large Rocking Chair, one Hair Mattrass and one
Half Dozen silver Table spoons Item 4 I give and bequeath to my niece
Margaret Elizabeth Ross the sum of One hundred Dollars in Cash ($100.00)
This said legacy of One hundred Dollars to remain in the hands of my
Brother Morris N. Adams as Trustee until my said niece Margaret E. Ross
shall arrive at the age of eighteen years; Then my said Brother Morris
N. Adams is to pay the said One hundred Dollars into the hands of my
said niece Margaret E. Ross without any interest accruing thereon,
Provided However That if the said Margaret E. Ross should die before she
shall arrive at the age of eighteen years and depart this life without a
lawful heir then the said legacy of One hundred dollars is bequeathed to
my said Brother Morris N. Adams to his heirs and assigns 5th I give and
bequeath to my niece Olivia Costin the sum of Four Hundred Dollars in
Cash ($400.00) I also give her my small rocking chair 6th I give and
bequeath to my nephew Robert Adams my Gold watch 7th I give and bequeath
to my Brother Morris N. Adams after he shall defray all the expenses of
my burial all the remainder and residue of my entire estate of whatever
description Lastly I constitute and appoint my said Brother Morris N.
Adams to be sole Executor of this my last will and testament. Signed
sealed published and declared by the testatrix the said Eliza G. Smith
as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her
request and in her presence have hereunto subscribed our names as
witnesses thereto this 13th day of May 1867 Witnesses William H. G.

Miles and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the
foregoing instrument of writing is the true and whole last will and
testament of Eliza G. Smith late of Somerset County deceased that hath
come to his hands or possession and that he doth not know of any other

Somerset County, to wit; October 6th day 1868 Then came William F. W.
Miles one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and
testament of Eliza G. Smith late of Somerset County deceased and made
oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that he did see the Testatrix
therein named sign and seal this will that he heard her publish
pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament, that
at the time of her so doing she was to the best of his apprehension of
sound and disposing mind memory and understanding capable of executing a
valid and contract and that he subscribed his name as a witness to this
will in the presence and at the request of the testatrix, and in the
presence of the other subscribing witnesses thereto, he further deposed
that he saw Stoughton Ross & Theodore Ross subscribe their names as
witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the
