Maryland Is. In the Name of God Amen I Archibald Ereskin of Snow Hill in the County of Somerset and Province of Maryland being weak of body but of perfect sense and memory praised be god for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following resigneing my soul unto god my creator hopeing through the meritorious ~ death and passions of Jesus Christ my only Savior and Redeemer to receive free pardon and remission of all my sins and my body to be buried in such Christian like manner as ~ to my Executor hereafter mentioned shall seem most convenient and as to such worldly ~ Estate as the Lord hath been pleased to lend me after debts and funeral expenses are discharged an is my will it be as hereafter mentioned Imprimis I do order and require that the good ship Success of Boston in New England freighted and laded forth by and upon the common accompt. Of Mr. John Boreland his copartners and my self according to the tenor of the bills of lading that after all ~ charges and deductions made of the said cargoes that my proportion of the loan produce be returned and disposed upon according to advice given and directed in a letter or otherwise doe loan an order all things concerning the sd. voyage and Cargoe unto the management and discretion of my Executor hereafter named and that goods taken in freight upon the sd. ship this voyage that it be imployed towards the discharge of the sd. ships freight. 2ly I do impower and by this my last will an thereof my Executor to State that accompt. And call in the clear produce of one third part of the Katch Friendship from Mr. John Boreland his Executor or administrator and that my Executor charge the accompt. Of the sd. Katch Six pounds sterling by me paid here with an accompt. Of provisions to be found in Mathew Scarboroughs Accoumpt and others to the value of about two thousand pounds of tobacco with some provisions corn flower to the value of fiftie shillings sterling ~ 3ly I do order and it is my will that all book debts or otherwise made lyable to answer what may be yet remaining unpaid of a parcel of goods had of Mr. John Boreland by commission the sd. Boreland advise running hazard of all bad debts, loadage [?], all manner of waist and other damages as pr. Sales in book will appear 4ly I do give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Janet Ereskin all and my part of my estate personal or real let if be in lands, houses, debts sue either by bill book or accompts whatsoever to be disposed off at her discretion her heirs of assigns ~ 5ly I do order and appoint my beloved Brother David Brown to be my Executor of this my last will and Testament revoking all former wills by me made In testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my ~ hand and fixed my seal this seventh day of January in the year of our lord one thousand six hundred eighty six 1686/87~ Signed Sealed and acknowledged In the presence of us John Williamson Archibald Ereskin Seale Margaret [mark] Decker Henry Morgan, William Wouldhave Maryland Somerset County the Within will was proved by Margaret ~ Decker, Henry Morgan and Wm.
