A memorandum of severall Goods and Chattles given by Mrs. Ann Smith and to be delivered to the parties hereafter mentioned upon the decease_______ Impr. To Ann Maxwell, Elizabeth, Mary, Frances, the children of Dr. John Vigorous I give and bequeath five cows, with there female increase to run in common until Ann Vigorous the oldest child come to age, and then to be equally divided al those cows to be of Mr. Edward Smith proper marks in particular to Elizabeth Vigorous, I give and bequeath one yearling heifer, with her female increase, Item I leave to Elizabeth Vigorous one pewter Disk, one yd. Of sheets one pewter plate one small Chest with a pad lock._____ Item to my Grandchild Ann Vigorous. I leave and bequeath one Bible______ Item to my Daughter Ann Vigorous I leave and bequeath my fether bed with all the furniture, belonging to it withen one bed sted__ Item one Iron pott of the biggest size and one pewter Personger, One black crape peticote, one Ceape g[???] one seats cloths shift and one ray appron__________________ Item to Percey Ann and Cornelius the children of Samuell Innis, I leave and bequeath three cows their female increase to be equally distributed amongst them___ When the oldest Childe come to age; and until that time to run common. Item to Ann Innis, I leave and bequeath one pewter dish and one pound of sheets and one pewter plate and one chest made of ash plank. Item to my Daughter Mary Innis One pewter porrenger, one pair of porragon boddys one say petticote one Scots cloth shift, and one Scots cloth appron. Item one black hood_____ Item, to my son Richard Hill my brother Shewell, and Daughter Elizabeth Smith I leave and bequeath my boat as equal owners and partners____ Item to Richard Hill my son and Elizabeth Innes' Daughter I leave one horse names blaike Button, Marked to a figure of 3 and one upon the further Buttock, Item I bequeath to the said Richard Hill with horse upon that he give to Samuell Davis Item To my brother Samuell Shewell I leave and bequeath my bay brown Mare at present is his possession and five muskets_____ Item for the use of the plantation I leave my Cart Jointly to my son Richard Hill and my Daughter Elizabeth ____ Item to my Daughter Martha Hill one dreegged petticote one doulass shift and one holland Appron and a laced handkerchief and one Quefs and one mare of a sorrell colure branded Item one gun______________ Item to my Daughter Elizabeth Smith I leave and bequeath my hand mile two peiulos [???] dishes one [?????] one chamber pot, two plates one dozen of spoons one half of my pewter the other half dozen one Tank and one bed pan one Warining, one pewter candlestick, one pewter salt Sellen, one ten sauce pan, one tin collendor, one pewter Fuinblin [???], one pewter dream cup, understand the two plates the Mason and chamber Plate are pewter, Item one white peticote, one fine dowlass shift, one laced handkerchief Quieths one black seerfe [???] one Iron shift, one chest of drawers. One couch, two chests, two leather chairs and all other add particulars not already in the premises, bequeathed, Item, I bequeath to her my Dark bay horse called R[???] branded with an S likewise my dark bay mare call Jenny, branded S. Item one white Buntirn [???] one white apron___ Item three sives and gum ~ the truth of the premises I witness with my hand and seale this 13th day of August Anno. 1688_____ Witnesses Present ~ Samuel Davis her Ann [X] Smith {Seale} mark John Johnson Amended of Mare Particular bequeathed the 21 of August 88 Item to Jonathan and Apwell the sons of Samuel Shewell I bequeath to each of them one ewe_____ Item to my brother Samuel Shewell I bequeathed one Ram and one Wenthen______ Item I leave twelve hides and four skins which are to be tanned and dried by Wm. Richardson to be equally divided among my brother Samuell Shewell and my son in law Dr. John Vigorous Samuell Innis Richard Hill and my Daughter Elizabeth as likewise what work John Boyn owes not to the value of six hundred pounds of tobacco to be equally divided amongst Named as likewise a parcell of hemp for the dame worke to be so divided as witness my hand and seale this 21 of August 1688 - Witnesses present Sam. Davis Her Wm. Innis Ann [X] Smith {Seale} mark Packet received December the 3rd 1688, memorandum. Within mentioned to which both Seal are fixed proved before me the 12th of the sd. Month by the oathes of Samuell Davis, John Johnson, and Will Innis who made oath that they saw the within named Ann Smith, sign and seale the sd. Memorandum and acknowledge the same to be her act and deed the sd. 12th day December. John Vigorous made oath before me upon the holy Evangelist according to the form of the old ministered Oath will and truly to administer the goods chattles and credits of the sd. Ann Smith ______ The 12th day of the month aforesaid came John Smock and Wm. Richardson, Appraisers appointed of the goods and chattles aforesaid and tooke their oaths before verbatum as Performe_____ Given under my hand and seale as I order thee 1688~ Sam Hopkins {Seale}
