ESHAM, RUARK posted by Linda Eshem Haney on Thursday, May 24, 2007: I am looking for wives of William ESHAM, a resident of Hickory Hill Plantation, Worcester Co., 1765-1806. Wm was a son of Jonathan Esham and wife Margaret. Ages of children lend to idea that there were three separate wives between 1793 and 1806. Wife number 3 was Martha Ann RUARK. Any clues will be greatly appreciated.

He married Martha ____ b. in TN and by the 1850 census is living in Lincoln County, MO with the following children: Charlotte, Betty, Jesse, Peter, Josiah, and Emily. His siblings were Irving, Lena, Denard, Harvy, Viola, George and Alverta. He married Ida HARMON and they lived in Stockton, MD. He was an African-American and also my great grandfather. If anyone has any info or is a relative please contact me.

He married Prissey or Priscilla WILLIAMS of Somerset county in 1804. I have information on his sons Alexander POWELL, John Dale POWELL and my ancestor Samuel James POWELL. I know that Ruth Dryden connected him to Zadock POWELL but I need more information to prove it.
