JOSHUA WAINWRIGHT FAMILY GRAVEYARD

Located north of Mezick Road, east of Clara Road and just west of Shiles Creek, this little graveyard is not visible from the road. It lies back a few feet into the woods north of a small field, and is in horribly overgrown condition, nearly inaccessible at the time it was visited and transcribed by Shari Handley, Robert Simms, Paul Willing, Jill Pevear, and Chris Pevear on August 3, 1997.

Update 3/18/99: Great news! The new issue of The Whitehaven Villager, the newsletter published by the Whitehaven Heritage Committee, gives the welcome and exciting news that the new owners of the property have undertaken a clean-up of this little graveyard. Hurrah!
