The Hardings 
Left to right:  Francis "Wilmer" Harding (1905-1962), "Bessie" Lee

Richard "Harvey" Long (1907-1975). Standing behind Leona and Harvey is
Francis Wilmer "Billy" Harding, Jr.  Picture was taken about 1942 at the old
Shell Station (now the site of the Corner Carryout) in Oraville, Maryland.
The home of Thomas Vinton Harding and his wife, Frances Bernice Hayden is to
the left and no longer stands. Billy Harding, his wife Norma (Wright) and
their children, Cheryl, Laura, and Michael live in California.

The latin motto above is taken from the Great Seal of Maryland; it is the last verse of Psalm 5: "with favor wilt thou compass us as with a shield". The date, 1632, refers to the year the Maryland charter was granted by Charles I, King of England, to Cecilius Calvert, second Lord Baltimore.
