PETE'S HILL ROAD CEMETERY
Transcribed by: William R. Culver
The cemetery is located on Pete's Hill Road in Somerset County. Traveling Perryhawkin Road and Perryhawkin Church Road past the intersection of Five Bridges Road you will find Pete's Hill Road. This area is East of Princess Anne (about 10 miles) and served by the Princess Anne Post Office rural route. The second house on the right (a farm house) was the Evans Homeplace back in early 1800's. The cemetery is located in the field just to the east of the house. When corn is planted in the field, it will be almost impossible to see the tombstones. The cemetery is not well-tended and some tombstones have fallen over or broken. It appears that weed killer has been used on it but sometimes I have seen it overgrown. I use to try to keep the overgrowth of vegetation but with age and health problems cannot do it.
