In the name of God Amen. January the ninth day Anno Domini one Thousand seven Hundred and seventy. I Elias Taylor of Somerset County in the province of Maryland being sick and weak of body but in perfect mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for it and calling to mind the uncertainty of this present Life and willing to settle my affairs here on Earth and as for my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with I do bestow as followeth (Viz) ---

Imprimis I leave unto my well beloved wife Sarah Taylor during her natural life or widowhood my now dwelling plantation whereon I now live with House orchard pasture and land thereunto belonging and likewise all my moveable Estate within Doors and without during her natural life or widowhood and Likewise I leave Liberty to my Mother Ann Prior to live with my wife Sarah Taylor as long as my Mother shall think fit -----Item I leave and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Mary Taylor after the death or marriage of my wife Sarah Taylor all my tract of Land whereon I now live known by the name of Dublin with House Orchards Pasture and Land thereunto belonging to her and her heirs forever ----- Item if it should be the pleasure of Almighty God to take my daughter Mary Taylor of the Stage of this Life not having heirs Lawfully begotten and born in wedlock I give and bequeath the above lands and house Orchards and pasture given to my daughter Mary Taylor unto my Grand Daughter Leah Addams to her and her heirs lawfully begotten and born in wedlock and to fall from heir to heir forever of her mothers family ---Item I do hereby nominate appoint and ordain my well beloved wife Sarah Taylor to be my whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke disannull and disalow of any former wills or testaments before made by me ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal have affixt the day and year above written.

On the 10th of March 1772 came Purnell Outten and made oath in the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that the within Instrument of writing is the True and only will and Testament of Elias Taylor late of Somerset County deceased that hath come to his hands Possession or knowledge and that he did not know or ever heard of any other.

Sworn before Thos Holbrook Deputy Comm of Som. County

On the tenth day of March one thousand and seven Hundred and Seventy two came Purnell Outten Isaac Addams and Levi Wood the three subscribing witnesses and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they did see the Testator Elias Taylor sign and seal the within Will and hear him Publish and Pronounce and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament and at the time of his so doing he was to the best of Each of their apprehensions of sound disposing mind memory and understanding.
