MYERS KEIM DAGUE
Susan Ludwick Sun, 13 Sep 1998 15:56:37 EDT Henry Myers was the son of John and Elizabeth Myers. He may have been born in Germany. After coming to this country the family is said to have resided in Meyersdale, PA. Henry and Catherine Myers lived in the Westminster District of Frederick Co which is now Carroll Co. They had daughters unnamed in documents except for one named Ehster. One son John was born about l792. Henry died in l796 by drowning on a swamp on their farm near New Windsor. In the inventory of goods listed at the time of Henry's death it seems that they were rich in livestock and material goods. John's mother, Catherine, did not remarry until after l800 because she is listed as Catherine Myers in the l800 census. However, family history says she married a man by the surname of Dague later. John was 4 years old and had a guardian, Joseph Lyster. until he reached his majority. John married Hannah Keim whose parents were Jacob and Barbara Wagner Keim. They were members of the Church of the Brethren. John and Hannah lived in Carroll Co. until l834. They and their children moved to Ashland Co. Ohio. I am really having a time tracing these people. Are there any land records (colonial) left in the Carroll Co. govt. offices??? I just haven't been able tocontact anyone who can tell me the best course of action or who would be willing to research for me for a fee. I need help. I know these people are traceable because they had land and they would have paid taxes. There should be some records available. Wanting to hear from others related to this family or who might know about them. Thank you for your help. Sincerely Susan Ludwick
