Keith Mounts & N. J. TaberWed, 2 Dec 1998 11:55:54 -0500 Residents of Carroll County had "easy" access to York County, PA. Charles BUSEY and his wife Elenor MONTGOMERY appear in York County, Pennsylvania, by the late 1820's, giving their place of birth as Maryland. Charles, a cooper, was born about Oct 1800, Elenor was born 25 Sep 1797. He is later found in German-speaking neighborhoods of York, while she is found in Irish sections. There is contradictory evidence about whether they could read and write, though English appears to be their native language. Do you have BUSEY or MONTGOMERY lines with vanishing offspring or siblings that might fit these two? Thanks! N. J. Taber (keithm@his.com)
