In the name of God Amen,
the eighth day of October one thousand and eight hundred and sixty
three,
I WILLIAM WRIGHT of Caroline County in the State of Maryland
being
weake in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time
thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and there be
the
better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me
hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and testimony in
the manner and form following that is to say:
First and principally I commit
myself in the hands of the Almighty God and my body to the earth to be
buried at the discretion of my executor herein after mentioned and
after
my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath as follows
to wit:
Secondly, Item I give and
bequeath untomy son LEWIS BIARD WRIGHT my mair cauld Jul.
Thirdly, Item I give and
bequth unto my dear wife ELENDER WRIGHT to have all my land and
house and avery thing that is atacht to said land, and all my personal
estate after my funeral expences and debts are paid to have it during
her
life, then after her death for all this estate both real and personal
to
be sold at public sail and for my son PETER WRIGHT to have
fifteen
dollars out of the said of the estate and no more of my estate all the
balance to be equally divided among all the rest of my children namely
SARAH
ANN RINGOD, LEVIN WRIGHT, and my granddaughter MARY ELLEN
WADKINS,
my daughter NICEY SIPPLE, MARY ELIN ANDREW, PRISCILLA MANSHIP,
CHARLES
G. WRIGHT and LEWIS B. WRIGHT.
Fourthly Item it is my will
and desire that BENNETT TODD shall be my hole and sol executor
to
settle my estate and shall settle the same as witness my hand and seal
this above date.
