HAMILL/BOKEE, HUBBARD/HUNT/THURSTON/WOODS Researching Alexander and Olivia COOK HAMILL, natives of Ireland, who were in Baltimore, MD by 1824. They were members of Aisquith and Second Presbyterian Churches in Baltimore. Alexander was granted a license to run an ordinary in 1829, and later operated flour mills, coal oil shops and a Queensware business. He died in 1878. Olivia died 1855 and was first buried at Hampton Mills in Baltimore County. Alexander may have married second Mary E. BOKEE. Children of Alexander and Olivia were: William John- born 1828 married Sylvia HUNT of Canonsburg, Washington Co., PA. 5 children. He left the country with her sister, Isabella HUNT, and had 16 more children. SYLVIA continued to run the oil companies. Articles have been written on her endurance in hard times.Alexander T. born 1830 married Elizabeth A. HUBBARD, daughter of John and Emeline CURTIS HUBBARD. Children: Kate (who married Melvin THURSTON of Mathews Co. VA),Charles, Howard, Walter, Alice, Lena, Mary, Daiseybelle. James Henry born 1833 married Annie WOODS. Robert born 1837, not much information. Olivia born 1839 married her relative Robert HAMILL, a native of Ireland. When and where were Alexander and Olivia Cook HAMILL married? LUDOLPH Seeking information on Wilhelm LUDOLPH, born in Hannover ca. 1847. Emmigrated by ship from Hannover to Baltimore. The following Ludolphs joined him & lived in Baltimore. Conrad, a shoemaker, Justis, Adolph, August, cabinet maker, Conrad, a shoemaker, and Henry, a brass finisher- all found in the 1875 Baltimore directory. Also Henry Ludolph of Bodega Bay, California, circa 1900. Any information greatly appreciated and happy to share. I am a descendant of Wilhelm Ludolph, Sr., who eventually settled in San Raphael and Sausalito, California, circa 1890-1897. Robert Campbell

VANHORN/TIMMONS Van Horn, Samuel; Baltimore City, Maryland; 1825-1896. Seeking information on the family of Samuel VAN HORN who in March 1825 (Harford County, Md license) married Rachel TIMMONS, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth TIMMONS, (our great great grandparents) of the Joppa/Magnolia area of Harford Co. By 1831 the family resided at 90 N. High Street and by 1850 through 1896 were living on Light Street, Baltimore City with sons; John born 1828, Elisha born 1829, Albert born 1833 died 1884 and William A. born ???. Albert and Elisha are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetry, Baltimore City. There may have been a daughter Rachel. We welcome any information regarding this family. Mary Timmons

STINCHCOMB/TIMMONS/SHOEMAKER/ROBINSON Stinchcomb, Joshua E., Baltimore City, Maryland; 1835-1896. Looking for parents of Joshua, born ca.1835 - died 1896, and information pertaining to his family with wife Amanda Louise TIMMONS (Oct 1848-Feb 1934), daughter of John TIMMONS and Louisa SHOEMAKER of Baltimore City and later the Joppa/Magnolia area of Harford County, Maryland. Joshua and Amanda had one son Emory Lee (June 18, 1880 - April 30, 1934). November 20, 1901, Emory married Aleatha Stewart ROBINSON, they had three known children, Aleatha born ca. 1903, Emory Lee Jr. born January 1906 and Charles Joshua born ca.1909. Emory Lee Sr. was a lawyer, his office in the Equitable Building, residence on John Street, both Baltimore City. Joshua and Amanda are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery and Emory Lee Sr. in Druid Ridge Cemetery. Mary Timmons

James (Harford County, MD - Marriage License February 6, 1839) married Juliet (Julia) TIMMONS daughter of our great great grandparents Edward and Elizabeth TIMMONS of the Joppa/Magnolia area of Harford County. 1850 Census of Baltimore City lists - James, a wood dealer (born in Ohio), Julia and and their five children; Elizabeth age 11, William Ed age 9, John A.age 7, Laura age 4 and James 10 months. SHOEMAKER/STINCHCOMB/TIMMONS/LEE Shoemaker, Louisa; Baltimore City, Maryland. Looking for information regarding the family of our great-grandmother Louisa SHOEMAKER (abt 1810-1890). She married first, December 1827 (Baltimore County License), Samuel M. STINCHCOMB who died in 1830. They had one son, Noah Samuel Stinchcomb, (born Nov 12, 1829 died Abingdon, Harford County, January 1904). She married second, (September 17, 1840 in the M. E. Church by a Rev. Tipet, Baltimore City) John TIMMONS a widower, whose first wife was Elizabeth (Betsy) Custis LEE. They had four children, Georgianna born abt 1845, John Edward born Dec 1846, Amanda L. born Oct 1848 and Joseph Raymond born Aug 1852. She was step-mother to known stepdaughters, Harriet Ann, Emmeline, Caroline Frances & Martha Dora. We are interested in finding her parents, where she was born, siblings etc. We know little of her life before she married our great-grandfather. Mary Timmons

EVANS/MITCHELL Looking for information on James Carvel EVANS b.Aug.28, 1838 and Mary Virginia MITCHELL b.Aug. 9, 1833, both in Baltimore MD. They had a daughter Annette born in Baltimore also. There were 11 children born to this family, but only 4 survived. I am especially looking for their marriage date and any information on the 11 offspring. My grandmother was the last child. MCDONNOUGH/PEGELOW/GOWER Searching for any information on Elizabeth MCDONNOUGH, born ca: 1896,daughter of Patrick James MCDONNOUGH & Mary MAYO.Moved to Maryland,?Baltimore? around 1913.Elizabeth married GEORGE PEGELOW, date unknown, they had a daughter, PEGGY LOUISE , born 15 Feb.1914 in a Batimore hospital. HERBRUGER/RIETBROCK My great-grand father, Florence Charles HERBRUGER, born in Rheda, Westphalia, on April 21, 1808, arrived to Baltimore in 1834. It is said that on the same ship arrived Maria Sophia Wilhelmina RIETBROCK, born at Lengerich, on June 20, 1806. They were supposedly married in Baltimore in 1834 or 1835.
